When asked to design cabinetry to complement my client’s much-loved hand painted buffet, we were faced with the challenge of integrating maximum storage into a tight space while delivering a beautiful design. This project was part of an overall condominium renovation.
These new custom maple cabinets met both objectives very successfully. The design incorporates many of the traditional details found in this elegant and unique piece. The angled sides and dentil moulding are repeated to reflect the neoclassical style and provide unity and balance. Additional touches such as the unique brass cabinet pulls with amazonite gemstone centres, reflect the stunning shade of green found in the buffet and harmonize beautifully with it. Wallpaper inserts in the display shelving are another design feature used to pull together all of the elements so it appears as one. Our skilled tradesman executed the design perfectly.
